Introduction to Solids

With live product demos and door prizes from Beaba.

To celebrate the launch of their Baby's First Solids Online Course, Kat from Nourish to Nurture Nutrition and Eliza from Baby Safe Basics have teamed up to bring you an in-person masterclass covering the key parts of starting solids like what to feed your baby and how to do it safely - fun and fear-free.

Kat will walk you through which nutrients to focus on, how to easily put together a balanced meal without buying fancy ingredients, and how to navigate common feeding challenges like CMPA, intolerances, and introducing allergens.

Eliza will cover the safety side of starting solids, including signs of readiness, how to prepare finger foods safely, spotting allergic reactions, and knowing the difference between gagging and choking.
Everyone who joins will also get a fridge-friendly guide to building balanced meals for your baby.

Kat also has extensive experience supporting neurodivergent children that find mealtimes a challenge; working with families to make meals easier, while supporting children to meet their nutrition needs. Kat is passionate about giving children the best chance to thrive over the course of their life and believes that excellent early life nutrition is key for this.  It was the birth of her first child that suffered from multiple food allergies that created a passion for paediatric nutrition. Kat has since supported thousands of parents to manage food allergies and intolerances, meet their individual goals around breastfeeding and to start solids with confidence. Kat’s goal is to empower parents to feel confident to feed their children so that everyone at home can thrive. Since specialising in paediatrics, she has completed additional studies in feeding therapy, paediatric feeding disorders as well as becoming a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC).

Outside of work, Kat loves spending time with family and friends, cooking, running and exploring the best places to eat in Melbourne.
